Creative day

Found the most amazing craft shop in Narbonne that had lots of twinkly sparkly things...heaven. Got some less twinkly, sparkly charcoal and drawing pencils! Have been drawing a lot more as part of art lessons for the boys. We began with a hairdryer, not the simplest thing, but requiring a lot of observation. Joshua rattled off a fair attempt in 20 minutes and I was still sitting there an hour and a half later with my masterpiece...

Am thinking that teaching is not really my forte, especially when I am having a lot of fun. We decided to try pottery yesterday, to try and recreate some of the Roman pots we saw in the museum in Millau. Once again I had lots of fun and made a jug. The boys make a collection of sausages and lots of puddles, got messy, cleaned up and played Jenga.

Next time I promise not to play too, that way the kids should keep going with the mess for longer! Don't expect me to say that too many times...

  1. What is all this talk of ladies waiting for a bus with umbrellas and chairs, I don't remember seeing any of this on my trips to France...... Glad to see you are getting more feedback than before. Thought your pics of the cars were wonderful, particularly liked the Black Citreon, (I think). Also the little see through silver bubble car was fab albeit you would feel a little exposed, definately not a car for "winching" in. I think you are right about smaller cars becoming more popular. I find my little 500 very spacious even though it looks very small from the outside, it is easy to park and turns on a sixpence. (old money). Love it, and only £35.00 road tax. Your blog is as always very interesting and entertaining, my god life will seem so boring when you return. However your adventure will hopefully provide you with answers to some of your questions. They do say that travel broadens the mind, do you agree? At last a slight hint of Spring is in the air when the sun shines, however night time tells a different story, still very cold, not to worry it can only get better, can't it? I take it there are McDonald's everywhere, I'm sure Bill has the big M sign radar. Anyway time to go and get on with some sewing. Keep us all entertained with your delicious news, observations and gorgeous pics. I wonder how many pics you have taken? Just thinking out loud....... Love Mum. xx
